7 Sep 2016

DWTH attended the annual Water Loss Asia 2016 conference and workshop on 6-7 September 2016 at Jakarta. The event is jointly hosted by PERMPASI and PROTEMP. At this conference, professionals from all over the world and PDAMs from across Indonesia attended the conference to discuss the latest products and technologies, as well as the challenges and opportunities of non-revenue water in Indonesia.

According to the National Medium Term Development Plan 2015 – 2019, a national target of 100% safe access to drinking water has been set by the Indonesian government. It is recognized that before developing new supplies of water, solving the high non-revenue water losses will be a priority.

Experts from various companies across the world demonstrated how using some of the latest sensor technologies, data analytics, and other technologies and management concepts has helped many utilities around Asia achieve significant reductions in non-revenue water. Utility companies from various countries, as well as a handful of PDAMs, who have enjoyed success in international cooperation, also shared their experiences in the holistic management of non-revenue water, providing valuable insights for the other PDAMs.
